Sanitation Supervisor

The job is located in the City of Bell, California and is currently in transition for 12-16 weeks from Culver City.
Basic Purpose
This position is responsible for developing and overseeing the daily application of core sanitation activities for the cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in production and storage areas, and building structure, while identifying opportunities to more efficiently produce great personal care products safely. Responsible for delivering programs and processes essential to our plant sanitation and product safety operations by developing, implementing and continuously improving our sanitation programs and policies.
Accountable for all plant sanitation programs directions and results regarding the cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the production and storage areas and plant grounds.
Evaluate the sanitary conditions of the facility, assessing risk based on product safety and public health principles, prioritizing corrective actions, and verifying sanitation activities and validation testing.
Ensure compliance with all product safety policies and procedures while ensuring the plant is in proper sanitary condition, including pest control.
Lead the Sanitation Team for the plant Environmental Monitoring Program. Work with QA on root cause analysis and document the corrective action taken in response to Environmental Monitoring Program issues related to sanitation. Verify the effectiveness of any corrective action taken.
Maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule to ensure the facility is routinely cleaned and in an "audit ready" state at all times.
Set the direction for ongoing sanitation verification activities and validation testing.
Maintain and write detailed clean up procedures and SSOP's for all activities related to the cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the production and storage areas and building structure.
Work closely with production and maintenance to identify capital expense needs and ensuring appropriate preventative maintenance programs are utilized once developed.
Develop and implement all sanitation-related training for sanitation and plant employees as needed.
Engage technical experts from corporate, industry experts, and chemical / equipment suppliers to troubleshoot any sanitation challenges and identifying novel technologies and methodologies.
Act as the sanitation lead in the process of assessing and mitigating product safety risks associated with construction and major maintenance.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects.
Bachelor's degree and experience in plant quality/food or product safety/sanitation.
Significant experience leading a team, with the ability to promote positive labor relations.
Understanding and application of basic microbiological principles with in-depth pathogen knowledge.
Knowledge of Sanitation principles.
Understanding of appropriate wet cleaning and dry cleaning methodology
Experience in successfully addressing environmental sanitation challenges in areas such as drains, floors, walls, roofs, and equipment.
Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Off shift and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.
The ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
